Understanding Vedic Astrology
Vedic Astrology is an ancient study of the impact of celestial phenomenon on the human experience. It comes to us from a time and place where inner and outer phenomenon were known to be connected. Through deep observation and contemplation the Sages in India came to understand how patterns in the sky described inborn patterns (or archetypes) which would guide the life of an individual, influencing everything from their quality of thought to the age of their first marriage.
This tradition of astrology was transmitted orally for thousands of years. It was eventually written down into a central text from which all principles of Vedic Astrology, or Jyotish—the Science of Light—are still derived.
