Maggie has been a student of Vedic Astrology and Ayurveda since 2010, and has studied with respected teachers in both India and the United States. She is connected to the lineage of Shri Achyutananda Das of Odisha (1510)—a 16th century poet, seer, author and prolific astrologer who was schooled in the traditional Vedic texts from a young age. This information has been passed down through the Rath family in India, who have kept the thread of astrological knowledge alive despite enormous historical challenges. It is through this connection to a genuine root, through her teacher Freedom Cole (one of Sanjay Rath’s primary students) that Maggie is able to offer genuine astrological insight that is grounded in methods in use for thousands of years.
Maggie is also a Svastha Acharya (Ayurvedic Practitioner), trained through AYU Academy and Boston Ayurveda and integrates Ayurveda with Astrology to understand and address the root causes of disease. She teaches astrology courses to both beginning astrology students and as a guest lecturer in yoga teacher trainings.
Maggie is originally from Madison, Wisconsin where she earned a BA in Psychology while competing in Division I cross county and track. She moved to Utah in 2009 to work as a wilderness therapy field guide, and later returned to school for an MA in Environmental Humanities.
